Kid-Friendly Activities in Dubai: A Family Adventure
Have you asked yourself if Dubai is worth visiting for the entire family? The question has one definitive answer: YES! This incredible city, Dubai, has so many things to offer and especially plenty of kid-friendly activities.
Dubai might be known for its luxury hotels and sky-high towers, but it’s also an amazing place for families. If you’re traveling with kids, you’re in for a treat—this city is packed with fun, exciting, and totally unforgettable things to do for all ages.

From shiny skyscrapers and dancing fountains to camel rides in the desert, Dubai feels like a giant playground where adventure is around every corner. I’ve explored it with my own family, and trust me—your little ones will be just as wowed as you are (and probably sleep really well at night after all the excitement!).
In this guide, I’m sharing some of the best kid-friendly activities in Dubai—the kind that are fun, easy to plan, and perfect whether you’re in the city for a few days or longer.
But before you land in this fantastic city, there are some things that you need to know.
What you need to know before going to Dubai with kids
First—yes, it’s hot. Like, “why did I even bother doing my hair?” hot. If you’re visiting between November and March, you’ll get the best weather for exploring. But keep in mind that there are plenty of activities to do in the summer as well, since Dubai offers many indoors activities that you can try, if being outside it’s too much for you sometimes, especially around noon.
Another important thing for you to know is that Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Careem are lifesavers when you’re juggling kids and strollers. You can find them anywhere near the main attractions and are pretty affordable.
Dubai is spotless, safe, and packed with things to do, but a little cultural awareness goes a long way—modest outfits in public spaces, and don’t expect to grab a drink just anywhere. Also, brace yourself: Dubai isn’t exactly a budget destination, but the experiences? Absolutely worth it. Plan wisely, and your family will have an unforgettable adventure.
Kid-Friendly activities in Dubai that you should try
1. Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo
If you’re visiting Dubai Mall (and let’s be honest, it’s hard not to), don’t miss the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. It’s right in the center of all the action, and honestly, it’s such a fun experience for both kids and adults—I went thinking it would be cool, but I ended up totally wowed.
The main tank is massive, and you can walk through a glass tunnel with fish swimming all around you—even sharks and stingrays! It feels like you’re inside the ocean, and it’s one of those things that makes everyone stop and stare. I was just as amazed as the kids around me.
The Underwater Zoo part makes it even better. It’s not just about looking at animals—it’s interactive and educational too. There are areas where kids can learn about different sea creatures through fun displays and hands-on experiences. It’s the kind of place where they’ll actually remember what they learned.
One of my favorite parts was the feeding session. Kids (and adults!) can join in and feed some of the marine animals with the help of the staff. It was such a cool moment seeing the little ones so excited. And don’t skip the glass-bottom boat ride—you float right over the tank and see everything below you. Super fun and unique!
This isn’t just another aquarium visit—it really stands out. If you’re planning a family day or just want to do something different in Dubai, this is a must.
👉 I booked my tickets in advance to skip the lines—especially helpful on busy days! I’ll drop the link here in case you want to do the same.

2. IMG Worlds of Adventure
For thrill-seeking families, IMG Worlds of Adventure is the largest indoor theme park in the world. Divided into different zones featuring characters from Marvel, Cartoon Network, and more, it promises a day filled with excitement. Roller coasters, 5D cinema experiences, and live shows make it a must-visit for families with adrenaline-loving kids.
IMG Worlds of Adventure is like stepping straight into a world of imagination. Each area has its own theme, and everything—from the rides to the music—makes you feel like you’re inside your favorite movies or cartoons. Whether your kids want to meet superheroes or you’re up for a thrill ride based on a popular show, there’s something here for everyone. One of my favorite parts? The character meet-and-greets! They’re so much fun and perfect for snapping some big smiles and giggles you’ll want to remember later.

3. KidZania Dubai
Other kid-friendly activities in Dubai that you can try are at KidZania. Give your children a taste of the real world at KidZania, an interactive edutainment center in The Dubai Mall. Here, kids can role-play in various professions, from doctors and firefighters to chefs and journalists. It’s a unique and entertaining way for children to learn about different careers while having fun.
KidZania isn’t just a miniature city; it’s an educational playground where children can explore their interests. With realistic setups and engaging activities, the experience goes beyond entertainment. Kids earn ‘kidZos,’ the city’s currency, by participating in various jobs and can spend them on fun activities or save for future visits.
4. Dubai Miracle Garden
Dubai Miracle Garden honestly feels like something out of a fairytale. Tucked away in the middle of the desert, this place comes alive during the winter months with millions of blooming flowers—crafted into everything from giant teddy bears to castles and even full-size airplanes made entirely of petals. It’s one of those places where you just can’t stop taking pictures (trust me, I tried!).
It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed family stroll, with wide paths, colorful archways, and themed gardens around every corner. Kids love the playful flower characters, and depending on when you go, there are often fun seasonal events happening too.

And the best part? It’s not just pretty—it smells amazing. The whole place is a treat for the senses. We spent a slow afternoon here soaking it all in and snapping some of our favorite family photos from the trip.
KEEP IN MIND This activity is not available year-round
🎟️ If you’re planning your visit, I highly recommend grabbing tickets in advance to skip the lines—especially on weekends. You can find the same ones we used for Miracle garden.

6. Aquaventure Waterpark
Beat the heat at Aquaventure Waterpark, situated at Atlantis, The Palm. With thrilling water slides, a lazy river, and a dedicated play area for younger kids, this waterpark offers a refreshing and entertaining day out for the whole family.
Aquaventure Waterpark is so much more than just water slides—it’s a full-on adventure for the whole family. Bigger kids (and yes, brave adults too) can take on some seriously thrilling rides, while younger ones have their own splash zones with gentle slides and water play areas made just for them.

One of my favorite parts? The lazy river. It’s the perfect break in between all the excitement—just float along and take in the beautiful surroundings of The Palm. Whether you’re chasing adrenaline or just want a fun, sunny day with the kids, Aquaventure has something for everyone.
