Now, it’s nearly impossible to see all the highlights of Los Angeles in just one trip, especially since the city is so vast and spread out. Each neighborhood offers something unique, and the distances can make it challenging to squeeze everything into one visit.

Plus, LA’s traffic is famous for a reason, so plan to spend some time navigating the city. While public transportation is improving, having a car or using rideshare apps will make getting around much easier.

So, for this itinerary, I’ll focus on the most iconic and accessible parts of Los Angeles, saving some of the more hidden gems for your next visit or an extended stay!

Day 1: Arrival in Los Angeles

The easiest way to start your Los Angeles adventure is by flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Once you’ve arrived, you’ll immediately feel the buzz of the city’s vibrant energy.

If you land early in the day, take some time to explore the nearby neighborhood of Venice Beach. Stroll along the famous boardwalk, watch street performers, and check out the colorful murals that make this area iconic. For a more laid-back vibe, head to the Venice Canals for a peaceful walk and some incredible photo opportunities.

In the afternoon, make your way to Santa Monica, just a short drive away. Visit the Santa Monica Pier for classic carnival fun, and don’t miss the chance to watch the sunset from the beach—it’s a view you won’t forget.

For your first night, settle into your hotel and get some rest. If you’re feeling up for it, consider dining at one of Santa Monica’s renowned restaurants, like Water Grill, which offers fresh seafood with an ocean view.
